Spring Cleaning On a Budget? Buy These Four Products
It’s that time of year when we open our windows, put on our favorite podcasts, and clean until our heart is content. I’ve been finding that deep cleaning my apartment once a week is a great form of self-care for me. There’s something about having a clean and tidy space that makes life seem so much easier. You don’t have to spend an arm and a leg to clean your space. I go back to the same products again and again. Here are the four products you need for your spring cleaning session.

Spring Cleaning Need 1: Bar Keeper’s Friend
I am absolutely OBSESSED with Bar Keeper’s Friend. It does everything. When I moved into my apartment I got these copper pans and I thought they would never be their original color. I used Bar Keeper’s Friend and they’re like new. I use it to clean my oven, my stovetop, and my toaster oven/air fryer. It also works on hard water spots. It’s the best. BE SURE TO WEAR GLOVES WHEN USING THIS PRODUCT. I know it sounds obvious, but I didn’t once and my hands were destroyed for days.
Spring Cleaning Need 2: White Vinegar
White Vinegar is like the Coconut Oil of cleaning and sanitizing. It’s completely natural and effective which is practically the definition of spring cleaning. White Vinegar is made of acetic acid making it a natural disinfectant for many bacterias. It just needs to be diluted with water. I use vinegar and water in a spray bottle to disinfect my upholstery. I also use to clean out my coffee pot and humidifier. Just put a half cup of vinegar into your coffee pot and fill the rest with water. For the humidifier, I put a few cap fulls in (but my humidifier is huge so it really depends on how large yours is). White Vinegar also removes ink from upholstery. Just blot it with a paper towel. Want to wash windows or mirrors? Put warm water with a cap full of vinegar in a spray bottle and go. Use some in your mop water to help kill germs.
Spring Cleaning Need 3: Comet
I have white counters that get stained so easily so Comet is a lifesaver. I sprinkle some on my counters and spritz some water on top and then scrub it with a cleaning brush. Comet also works great to help remove soap scum or toothpaste residue in the bathroom sink. I use Comet instead of Bar Keeper’s Friend in any space that I would want to be disinfected. So kitchen counters, sinks, bathroom sink, shower, or toilet. It’s so easy just sprinkle some, add water, and scrub. Once a week I sprinkle some in the toilet I also use a Clorox Wand for an extra clean look.
Spring Cleaning Need 4: A Scrub Brush
A scrub brush is a must-have. It doesn’t have to be anything super special. I got my current cleaning brush at Target for like $3 and it works just fine. Just make sure to have a separate brush for your toilet.
