Blogging
Blogging is one of my favorite hobbies that I’ve been doing for a while. This one isn’t going to get you extra income overnight. Unless you are extremely lucky or already have a huge platform on another social media network, this will most likely take time. Although Pink and Pineapple has been in existence since 2020, I’ve only been intentional in 2022 about blogging consistently and have just now started earning a small extra income. But it’s so worth it! Once you learn how to utilize SEO, Social Media, and Analytics, watching your blog grow each month is so satisfying! On average bloggers make $39,000-$50,000 a year!

Youtube
This is another hobby that isn’t going to earn you extra income overnight, but if it’s something you love to do then it’s worth a shot. Building your Youtube is a lot like building a blog. You’ll want to form a community. The awesome thing about technology these days is that you don’t have to spend an arm and leg on a special camera. Most of the latest smartphones and computers have quality cameras. Consider your audience. What do you love to talk about? True Crime? Psychology? Yoga? Business? Cooking? Who do you think your audience will be Gen Z? Millennials? Women? Men? Considering all of this will help you have a jump start before you start your channel.

Graphic Design
It’s no secret that Digital Content is HUGE right now. With most of us owning a smartphone, tablet, laptop, or a combination of all three, many products that used to be bought as physical products are now being sold online in digital form. Think planners, notebooks, greeting cards, or printable art. If you’re well versed in Photoshop or Indesign (or even really good at Canva), you could easily start earning money by selling your products on an Etsy account.
Art
Do you have a passion for art? You could use your skills to earn extra income. It’s not just art shows now that can help you earn from your art. Whether you love painting or pottery, you can sell your creations on Etsy and earn extra income! Or maybe you start offering window painting to local businesses around your area. Is there a boutique or art co-op near you? Ask them if they could stock some of your art in their store.
Crafting
If you love crafting, chances are there’s something you could make to earn extra income. Do you love making bath bombs? Maybe you have a Cricut machine and a plethora of Real Housewives quotes you could plaster on them to sell to fans (a surprisingly niche market on Etsy). Find something you love making and can make well. Look at similar stores aka competitors and see what they’re doing successfully. You can also sell your products at fairs, flea markets, or even by reaching out to boutiques in your area!
Knitting
Do you know how to knit? Great news there are a ton of people who will buy your products. Chunky Knit blankets are everywhere and the average asking price for them online is $200 and up! There is a huge market for well-made knits and knitwear, especially in areas with frigid winters. Much like DIY items consider selling your knits on Etsy, flea markets, or by networking with business owners in your local area.
