It’s hard to believe that in one week we will be kissing 2022 goodbye and saying hello to 2023. With a new year typically comes new goals. While many people typically stick to the same cliche New Year’s Resolutions like “lose weight”, “start a diet” or work out more, there are so many other goals that you should strive for in 2023. Here are 19 New Year’s Resolutions that will not only make you a better person but also change your life.

Eat More Fruits and Veggies

Eating Fruits and Vegetables is a great way to add health to your diet. Eating healthy doesn’t mean just eating salad. So many wonderful, tasty and exciting recipes will add more plants to your diet as long as you take the time to look. The rule for making eating healthy more enjoyable is never to eat something you dislike just because it’s “healthy”.

Take Your Vitamins Daily

This is another goal that will help you reach your essential health and wellness goals, but it’s a hard one to make a part of your routine. If you can afford it, Careof is a great way to get into the habit of taking vitamins every day at first. Now I take a multivitamin every night with other medications I take.

Drink More Water

Many of us don’t drink enough water as it is. Adding in dehydrating factors such as caffeine, sugar, or the dry air from heaters, makes it even more difficult. This year make it a point to get more water. Make it fun. Get a new water bottle and keep it with you as much as possible. About halfway through my workday if I haven’t had to refill my water bottle I know I need to focus on drinking more water.

Move More

When most people think of New Year’s Resolution they automatically think something along the lines of “lose weight” or “Workout more”, but that’s not always something that sticks. If you aren’t in the habit of exercising then it’s not realistic to go from 0-60. Maybe you just need to get up and do a lap around your work building. Maybe you try to take the dog out for a walk almost every day. When you’re ready maybe start going to the gym a few days a week before bumping it up. A great way to make fitness enjoyable is to find something you like. I love group classes over working out alone.

Try a New Workout Class

If working out is already a passion of yours or something you are trying to get back into, a great way to spice things up is to try a new workout class. I tried boxing for the first time in 2022 and I loved it. Is there something you’ve been wanting to try? Make 2023 the year you do.

Get Better About Skincare

Another thing I focused on in 2022 was my skincare routine. I started making sure I was washing my face every day and I also started simplifying my skincare routine with products that addressed things that were a concern to me. Don’t overhaul your skincare routine overnight. Maybe you strive to wash your face every night or maybe you want to add SPF to your morning routine.

Save a Specific Amount of Money

A great goal for 2023 is saving money. I used a specific amount because everyone’s financial situation is different. Maybe just saving $1,000 is a huge accomplishment and maybe you’re in a financial situation where $1,000 would be selling yourself short. If you have something to save for, consider making that a part of your goal.

Pay off a credit card

One thing I did in 2022 was paid off over $2,000 in credit card debt! This opens me up financially to save more money or have more money each month to spend. This is a great goal that will help you become more financially stable in the future.

Start Eating at Home More

One great way to save money is to start eating at home more. I was out of the habit of cooking in 2021, but I started cooking more in 2022. Now I love cooking and very rarely eat takeout ( an everyday habit in 2021). One great way to get back into the swing of things or to introduce yourself to cooking is to use meal kits. Meal kits make getting into or back into cooking less overwhelming. There’s less planning and less shopping. Plus you get instructions to help you learn cooking basics. I did it for the first half of 2022 and now cooking and planning meals doesn’t feel overwhelming at all.

Start Networking More

Networking is something I really struggle with. If you’re trying to take your career to the next level, a great way to do so is to find opportunities to network. Look for career fairs or networking events put on around your area or start sharing more on LinkedIn. It’s crazy how many opportunities can come from the connections you make.

Get a Certification

Is there a certification you’ve been wanting to add to your resume? Do it in 2023. I FINALLY added the Google Analytics certification to my resume! It was something I’d been meaning to do for years but never got around to it. Adding it to my resume made me feel such a sense of accomplishment. I also got a content creation certification from Hubspot and the things I learned in that course has helped me so much with this blog and gaining more traffic!

Go to Therapy

Is there something you need to overcome? We all have issues that we are dealing with. You can do as much work on yourself as you want to, but sometimes you just need somebody to talk to. Working through therapy will help you be a happier and healthier version of yourself. Make 2023 the year you overcome anything holding you back.

Journal More

A habit that will help you get to know yourself better is Journaling. You can find so many journal prompts online that can help achieve clarity in your life. Journaling is great for mindfulness and perspective and has been proven to improve mental health, memory, and emotional intelligence.

Add a Self-Care Activity to Your Routine

Many of us don’t make a point to take care of ourselves, but taking moments to give yourself rest or relaxation is important for your mental health and has been shown to improve your self-esteem. Make a point to add at least one self-care activity to your routine whether that is a massage once a month or a pedicure.

Change Up Your Wardrobe

One thing I’m focused on this year is improving my wardrobe. I haven’t had as much money to spend on clothes in the last few years. I have definitely worn out many of the outfits since college. Now that I am making decent money I am slowly buying clothes that will reflect my current style and lifestyle. When you like what you’re wearing your confidence raises.

Become More Organized

Something that will help make 2023 great is making your space great, but that’s just the start. Throughout 2022 I organized my apartment room-by-room. In 2023 I am focusing on making sure my car is organized and keeping all important papers together. I am buying accordion folders in bulk to organize everything from invoices to papers from therapy.
