Must-Have Self-Tanning Products for a Healthy Glow this Summer

The weather is getting warmer here in Michigan! This has me so excited for summer. Longer days and beautiful weather. The sun while good for my mood does not love my pale skin. I do not tan. I burn or develop more freckles. Self-tanning is my only hope to not look like Casper the friendly ghost in a bikini during the summer months. As a lifelong pale girl, I’ve tried a lot of self-tanning products over the years. My self-tanning journey has certainly evolved. These are my go-to’s for rocking a healthy summer glow.

For A Quick Self-Tan

Bondi Sands is a must have for a quick self-tan

Bondi Sands Tanning Foam

The Bondi Sands Tanning Foam is my go-to for when I want to look tan fast. The foam makes it perfect for putting on evenly. I typically put it on in the evenings after I shower moisturize, do my skincare routine and brush my teeth (avoid all water is the theme here). I typically put the leftover foam on the mitt on my face last. Leave it on overnight. You can put towels down to avoid staining your sheets, but I’ve never had an issue with getting the stains out. The next morning I rinse off in the shower with cold water and moisturize again.

For Self-Tanning the Middle of Your Back

Bondi Sands Back Applicator

The Bondi Sands Back applicator is a god-send for reaching the notoriously difficult middle of your back. Just put the foam on the applicator and reach it back to the desired spot. Apply the lotion to your back in a buffing motion.

For Keeping Your Hands from Turning Orange

Bondi Sands applicator mitt keeps your self-tan looking even and your hands not looking orange

This mitt is key to keeping your self-tan streak-free and hands stain-free while using the tanning foam. It’s so easy to use. Just put the foam on the mitt and apply in a buffing motion. I typically clean it with soap and set it out to dry on a towel.

For a Buildable and Gradual Self-Tan

Bondi Sands Self-tanning Milk is my go to for a gradual self-tan

Bondi Sands Tanning Milk

The Bondi Sands Tanning Milk is more of what I use when I want to create a buildable self-tan. I usually start in late spring and use it a few times a week to keep my tan going all summer long. Just apply it after your shower. I typically put it on after putting on a different lotion. It’s clear so you don’t have to worry about it staining your clothes or your furniture. Just make sure to wash your hands after applying so your hands don’t turn orange.

For Self-tanning my Face and Neck Gradually

St. Tropez face self-tanning mist helps make my face look bronze and skin looking clear.

St. Tropez Self-Tan Purity Bronzing Water Face Mist

While you can technically put the tanning milk on your face and neck, it makes my skin break out like crazy. I spray this after I do my skin-care routine. That’s it. It’s so simple. I use it the same days I put on my tanning milk.
